About us
Lightwood Cheese is set in the heart of the
Worcestershire countryside, a stone's throw from the birthplace
of Edward Elgar.
Originally based in Cotheridge, Lightwood Cheese moved just up the road to
Lower Broadheath in late 2006. The new premises are purpose built for food production, and are designed to meet today's stringent food safety requirements.
At Lightwood Cheese we employ traditional artisan cheesemaking methods, and our cheeses are
entirely handmade and unpasteurised. We have policy of not doing business with the supermarket
chains, instead preferring to deal with local farm shops and delicatessens. The business is also expanding through
specialist outlets further afield, and I am keen to contact more. I invite you to sample our products at one of the outlets
listed. Should you be unable to find a local source, click
here to order.
Lightwood Cheese is an enthusiastic supporter of farmers'
markets, and we attend many such events throughout Worcestershire,
Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. Follow the
link to find the one closest to you.
Alternatively, come and visit us at the farm where you can make your purchase Monday to Friday.
It is worth phoning ahead if you are traveling any distance, as sometimes we have to close during
the day if there are errands to be run.
To find us, follow the link to a downloadable map.
Lightwood Cheese is a member of the Specialist Cheesemakers Association.
We can also be found in Rick Stein's Food Heroes Guide.
Look out for Lightwood Cheese in the better pubs and restaurants around Worcestershire. You can find it on the cheese board at The Elms in Abberley, The Talbot at Knightwick, The Bear & Ragged Staff in Bransford, The
Plough & Harrow in Guarlford, The Royal Forester in Callow Hill, Near Bewdley and The Hadley Bowling Green Inn.
However and wherever you buy Lightwood cheese, we hope you enjoy it.
